What made you decide to apply to Stockholm University?
–I have been to Stockholm before and it’s truly one of my favourite places in the world. Being a student here instead of a tourist makes it even better.

How did you decide which courses to choose?
–By reading their descriptions (in the course catalogue).

How do studies here at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics differ in comparison to your home university?
–You get to interact a lot more by having lively discussions and a fair bit of group work.

What are your impressions of Stockholm and Sweden?
–Fantastic in many ways! You can’t escape nature – even in the big cities, people are incredibly friendly, and coffee and cinnamon buns are always waiting around the corner.

How would you describe a regular day as a student in Stockholm?
–Morning fika. Lectures for 2-4 hours. Lunch fika. Visit a museum or gallery. Afternoon fika. Meet friends for beers.

What is your top three places in Stockholm?
–Fotografiska. Gilda’s Rum. Tyresta National Park.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about coming to Stockholm as an exchange student?
–Make sure you have some money and go for it.

Is there anything you wish someone would have told you, before you came here?
–There are many places outside of university where you can learn or improve your Swedish language skills (Folkuniversitetet, Stadsbiblioteket, Språkcafés organized via couchsurfing) – it helps to start speaking as soon as possible.
