Four new books on world literature available in open access
The research program "World Literatures: Cosmopolitan and Vernacular Dynamics", based at Stockholm University and financed by The Swedish Foundation for Humanities and Social Sciences, publishes four books on world literature in open access. Among the books is Literature and the Making of the World: Cosmopolitan Texts, Vernacular Practices, co-edited by literature professor Helena Bodin at the Department of Culture and Aesthetics.
The research program "World Literatures: Cosmopolitan and Vernacular Dynamics" publishes the four volumes in the Bloomsbury series Cosmopolitan-Vernacular Dynamics in World Literatures. Three of the volumes are already available and the fourth will be published in February.

New book: Literature and the Making of the World
"Positioning itself at the intersection of world literature studies, literary anthropology, and philosophical critiques of “world” and “globe” concepts, this volume investigates how literature imagines and shapes worlds for its readers through linguistically specific cosmopolitan-vernacular dynamics" - the new book edited by Stefan Helgesson, Helena Bodin och Annika Mörte Alling, Literature and the Making of the World: Cosmopolitan Texts, Vernacular Practices is published in open access within the Bloomsbury series Cosmopolitan-Vernacular Dynamics in World Literatures.
In her chapter "Narrating the crisis of Constantinople 1908–1922: A lost world in Greek, Armenian, Turkish and Russian", literature professor Helena Bodin explores how four novels in Greek, Turkish, Russian and Armenian, portraits the multilingual life in Constantinopel (today's Istanbul) during the first decades of the 20th century.
