Applicants for economics increase by 16 percent

October 16 was the last day to apply for the spring semester of 2024. Compared to the same period last year, 16 percent more people have applied for courses in economics at Stockholm University.

Largest increase for new online course

In total, 2,690 people applied for courses at the Department of Economics, an increase of 16 percent. The increase corresponds to 430 more applicants. A new online distance course in microeconomics accounts for the largest share.

For Stockholm University as a whole, the number of applicants increases by nearly three percent. Nationwide, the figure is close to four percent. Find further reading here (in Swedish):
