Conference on Nordic Public Policy

During two days in December, a conference was held for one hundred researchers and PhD students in Nordic public economics.

The Nordic Public Policy Symposium took place on 14–15 December and was organised by David Seim from Stockholm University and Claus Kreiner from the University of Copenhagen.

The keynote speaker was Emmanuel Saez from the University of California, Berkeley. Among the other speakers were Kaisa Kotakorpi from Tampere University, Ragnhild Schreiner from the University of Oslo, and Jakob Søgaard from the University of Copenhagen.

The conference is planned as an annual event at various Nordic universities with the aim of bringing together researchers in public economics with a focus on the Nordic region.

Next year, it will be organised by the University of Copenhagen, with Henrik Kleven from Princeton University as the keynote speaker.

Public Economics Course

In the days leading up to the conference, an intensive course in public economics was held at Stockholm University by David Seim and Arash Nekoei. The course, which had 70 participating PhD students, is the largest PhD course the department has organised to date.
