Grażyna Kubica is an Associate Professor of Social Anthropology in the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University, Krakow. One of her research areas is the history of anthropology. She coedited the volume Malinowski – Between Two Worlds (Cambridge University Press, 1988), as well as the Polish Dziela (Completed Works) of the anthropologist. She authored the introduction and annotations of the full version of Malinowski's diaries in their original language: Dziennik w scislym znaczeniu tego wyrazu (2002). The spin-off of this work was a feminist book, Siostry Malinowskiego (Malinowski's Sisters, 2006), concerning several women appearing in the diaries, among them the Polish-British anthropologist Maria Czaplicka. Kubica has just published a biography of Czaplicka in English: Maria Czaplicka: Gender, Shamanism, Race (University of Nebraska Press 2020).
