Paola Manzotti has been promoted to Senior Lecturer of Geochronology and Tectonics. Paola’s research focuses on how mountains are formed. She uses metamorphic rocks as “windows” to study what happens in the deeper parts of mountain belts. She works extensively in the Alps and also in other mountain belts. Her research combines geological mapping, structural analysis, metamorphic petrology, and geochronology.

Christian Stranne has been promoted to Senior Lecturer of Marine geophysical mapping and modelling. Christian’s research generally involves the oceans and climate. He studies methane hydrate dynamics and applies numerical models to multiphase flow in hydrate-bearing marine sediments. He uses acoustic methods to map marine gas seeps and to study oceanographic features in the water column.
