Miocene Temperature Portal launched

Miocene climatic, oceanic and tectonic changes and selected biotic developments, as summarized in this study.

Helen Coxall, working with the Bolin Centre and international collaborators have this week launched the Miocene Temperature Portal (https://bolin.su.se/data/miocene-temperature-portal), which allows investigators interested in the Miocene to access and share published Miocene temperature records from the marine realm. The portal is now published and ready for use.

The data portal partners a recently published review paper (https://agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1029/2020PA004037) on the Miocene, a warm period 23–5 million years ago), which is the direct result of joint RA6 and RA1 activities during 2018–2020 lead by Steinthorsdottir, Coxall and de Boer.
