Two doctoral seminars in Sweden in September 2024

The law faculties at Uppsala University and Stockholm University are organizing two doctoral seminars in tax law, on comparative tax law methodology (Uppsala, 3-4 September 2024) and on transfer pricing and related issues (Stockholm, 5-6 September 2024).

Qualifying candidates are welcome to attend either one, or both of the seminars. Arlanda airport is conveniently located between Stockholm and Uppsala. The seminars are free of charge and require a workload covering 7,5 ECTS. An invitation with the final programs will be sent in the spring of 2024. Participants will also be invited to an event organized by the Swedish branch of IFA on 5 September 2024.

Comparative tax law methodology

Uppsala, 3-4 September 2024

The Faculty of Law at Uppsala University invites doctoral candidates in tax law to a seminar on comparative tax law methodology. We will discuss comparative legal method(s) in general as well as in relation to tax law research (direct and indirect tax law). We will also discuss experiences of comparative tax law research in developing international tax law and EU tax law. During the seminar, there will be possibilities to discuss comparative tax law methodology in relation to your own research topic. Several prominent professors in comparative law and tax law will attend and join the discussions during the seminar.

Transfer pricing and related issues: material and methodological issues

Stockholm, 5-6 September 2024

The Law Faculty at Stockholm University organises an international doctoral seminar which will focus on transfer pricing and related issues such as Pillar 1, Art. 12 B of the UN MTC, DSTs, international dispute resolution, the attribution of profits to permanent establishments, or institutional issues such as the role of different international organisations.
Together with prominent experts who have extensively published and/or worked in these fields, participants will be able to exchange their views and experiences on various material and methodological issues. The seminar comprises a combination of presentations from the tutors, the participants, and workshops in small groups.
