Anneli is delighted with the new professorship and looks forward to continuing her work to pinpoint toxic chemicals and identify them in complicated environmental mixtures. Current work involves an ERC project for elucidating the structure of toxic chemicals in water samples by using machine learning to highlight the chemicals of highest risk in the environment.

“Our research can be used to detect and qualify highly toxic substances in environmental water samples. The aim is to use the data in moving towards cleaner water and a sustainable environment”, Anneli says.

Anneli Kruve joined Stockholm University in 2019. Today she is in charge of the Analytical Chemistry master’s program. She leads a research group focusing on modeling and Machine Learning to understand structure-activity relationships in combination with advanced analytical characterization of environmental samples.
