Available PhD positions at the Department of Mathematics

We are announcing PhD positions in mathematics, mathematical statistics and computational mathematics, the last day to apply is 24 April.

We have three PhD programmes, in mathematics, mathematical statistics and computational mathematics, and we are currently looking to recruit PhD students to all three programmes. The last day to apply is 24 April. Read more and apply here:

Projects

For the PhD programmes in computational mathematics and mathematical statistics, we are looking to recruit PhD students to the following projects respectively:

Computational Mathematics - Hellmuth, Computational and mathematical studies of ancient DNA (pdf) (29 Kb)

Mathematical statistics - Ahlberg, Random spatial processes (pdf) (489 Kb)

(Participants interested in Daniel Ahlberg's project are encouraged to apply for it via both the PhD program in mathematics and the PhD program in mathematical statistics.)

For the PhD programme in mathematics we especially seek to recruit PhD students for the following two projects:

Mathematics - Kurasov, Spectral geometry and zeta-functions: analysis on graphs and fractals (pdf) (89 Kb)

Mathematics - Rohleder, Critical points of eigenfunctions for elliptic differential operators (pdf) (44 Kb)
