VR grants to three professors

The Swedish Research Council VR awarded grants to three young professors, Johannes Heiny, Olof Sisask and Sofia Tirabassi, from the Department of Mathematics at SU. The grants will enable them to strengthen their groups and work out their innovative research ideas.

The Swedish Research Council is Sweden’s largest governmental research funding body and supports research of the highest quality in all scientific fields. It advises the Government on research policy and works to ensure that research benefits society.

Sofia Tirabassi’s project title is "Generic vanishing and characterization of semiabelian varieties". She is going to hire a PhD student starting in the fall of 2024, announcement will be out in the early spring.

Johannes Heiny’s project title is "High-dimensional extremes and random matrix structures". He encourages anyone interested in a PhD or postdoc position to contact him.

Olof Sisask’s project title is "High-dimensional extremes and random matrix structures". He’s hiring a PhD student starting in the fall of 2024, announcement will be out early in the Spring, probably in April.
