Education in Cinema Studies
make a full semester in English speaking BA-courses or two years in our Master's Programme
The courses in Cinema Studies provide a solid theoretical basis for you who are looking for a profession with creative or administrative tasks in film, television, information, as well as for you who want to invest in a media-related research career.
You study our courses in Filmhuset "the Film House" at Gärdet in Stockholm.

BA level
Choose 15 ECTS courses in English
We have a variety of free standing courses spanning 15 ECTS. During Spring semesters you can make a whole full 30 ECTS semester with our 15 credit courses. These courses are widely popular amongst international students, especially exchange students from all over the world.
The courses have only basic eligibility and you don't have to know Swedish. However you must have eligilbility in English 6/B.
No Bachelor Degree possible in English courses only
To obtain a Bachelor's Degree (180 ECTS) in Cinema Studies with us you must follow our Swedish taught courses Filmvetenskap I, II and Kandidatkurs i Filmvetenskap (=90 ECTS combined).
MA level
You can study most of our courses at the MA (advanced) level either as a free standing stand-alone course or within the Master's Programme in Cinema Studies. These are courses in English - 7.5 credits 50% study pace. Our Master's Programme in Cinema Studies 120 credits is for 2 years.
Master's Programme in Cinema Studies (HMOVO)
Eligibility
Eligibility for the courses at the advanced level is usually at least a bachelor's course in Cinema Studies; Bachelor's degree or that you have taken credits in a master's program. Always check the special eligibilities for the course you are interested in before applying.
Master's degree 120 credits
For a master's degree or a one year master's degree, you need to study within our Master's programme in Cinema Studies. It is not possible to study only free standing courses.
Education in Fashion Studies
Our education taught in English is focused on our Master's Programme
Fashion Studies is a central subject for you who want to prepare for a professional activity in the large fashion world outside the university, or for further research studies in the subject.
The educations in Fashion Studies are given in Filmhuset "the Film House" at Gärdet in Stockholm.

BA level
No English courses on BA level in Fashion Studies
To obtain a Bachelor's Degree (180 ECTS) in Fashion Studies with us you must follow our Swedish taught courses Modevetenskap I, II and kandidatkurs in Modevetenskap (=90 ECTS combined).
MA level
The two year - all taught in English - Master's Programme in Fashion Studies is the flagship of Fashion Studies at MA-level. It can for sure expand your knowledge in Fashion Studies and prepare you for a career of your choosing outside the Academy but certainly it will give you the tools to study further in our PhD programme in Fashion Studies or elsewhere.

For a master's degree or a one year master's degree, you need to study within our Master's programme. It is not possible to study only free standing courses.
Education in Journalism
we give you knowledge and skills to be able to work as a journalist
You study journalism within JMK (the section for journalism media and communication). JMK provides undergraduate, master's and postgraduate education in the subject of journalism.
We provide training both for you who want to become a journalist, but also for you who want to do research or gain an understanding of journalistic writing and storytelling.

Master's Programme in Journalism Studies 120 ECTS, in English
The Master's Programme in Journalism Studies welcomes applicants who are interested in journalism as a field of research and hold a bachelor’s degree in the fields of social science, humanities or technical subjects.
A theoretical and research-oriented two year programme
The Master’s Programme in Journalism Studies approaches the areas in Journalism Studies areas through a perspective of change, focusing in particular on the digitalization and democratic roles of journalism.
The program provides advanced theoretical and methodological knowledge preparatory for independent investigative and research work as well as advanced positions within the fields of journalism and media. The master’s programme is also preparatory for doctoral studies.

Studies in Media and communication Studies at the Section for Journalism Media and Communication (JMK) give you a broad understanding of the media's growth, significance and changes in Sweden and globally.
