On May 31, 2022 three new professors were installed
On May 31, 2022 President Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Stockholm University, installed the department's three new professors: Marina Dahlquist, Ester Pollack and Louise Wallenberg in Stockholm City Hall.

The Department of Media Studies offers doctoral programmes in four different areas; Media and Communication Studies, Journalism Studies, Cinema Studies and Fashion Studies.
After a break due to the pandemic, the 2020 Inauguration and conferment ceremony could finally be held in the Stockholm City Hall on 31 May. At the ceremony, attention was drawn to new doctors and new professors at Stockholm University. In addition, jubilee doctors were conferred and the Pedagogical Prize for Good Teaching was awarded.
