The Philosophy Department at Stockholm University provides generous support and
comprehensive guidance to Ph.D. students and recent graduates in their search
for academic employment.  The placement officers, currently Anandi Hattiangadi,
James Nguyen and Greg Bognar, run workshops on a range of topics relevant to
applying for jobs and research funding, provide individualized feedback on
Ph.D. students' application materials, and organize mock interviews and job
talks.

Upon graduation, Ph.D. students are normally offered a six-month postdoctoral
extension of their position at the Department, to develop future research
projects, improve their publication records, and seek academic employment.
Though the Department primarily provides support and guidance in relation to
academic employment, it also supports students seeking to pursue non-academic
careers.

Further support for students seeking academic or non-academic employment is
provided centrally by the University.  The Department continues to offer support
to its Ph.D. students until they receive an offer of permanent or tenure-track
employment, or choose an alternate career path.
