Examination procedures for students in need of special educational support

On this page, you can find information regarding written examinations for you who have access to pedagogical support and adaptations.

When you start a course or program, you should send the certificate you have received from Special pedagogical support to your study counselor at the department. The recommendations specified in the certificate acts as a guideline and are followed as far as possible by the department.

Before each examination

Before each examination you must notify the course coordinator and the responsible examination administrator. We need the notification at least 3 weeks before each examination and what your needs are in terms of:

  • Extra writing time
  • Individual exam room
  • Use of spelling software (computer)
  • Raised table (to be able to write standing)
  • Etc

These aids must therefore be specified in the certificate. The reason why the information needs to be sent to us before each exam, is that the department must know what measures to be planned for (such as room booking, booking of examination invigilators etc). Different exams have different arrangements, depending on the number of students and on which students taking the exam. Please note that requests for adaptations that have not been announced well in advance of the exam, may not be met! The department can assist with, for example:

  • Extra writing time
  • Individual exam room (usually)
  • Raised table (usually)

The department cannot assist with:

  • Computer

The possibility of, for example, being allowed to write in an individual room or gain access to a raised table may vary, depending on the current examination time and access to rooms.
