Purchase of computer software requires procurement

Purchase of computer software at Stockholm University is subject to the same rules for public procurement in Sweden as the purchase of all other products and services. This applies even if there is only one product that fulfils the requirements, and the product can only be purchased from one supplier. To simply purchase from a supplier is a violation of the rules of procurement, even if there are no alternative products or suppliers.

A number of already procured software products are available for use at Stockholm University. The university itself has procured some software products, available through the IT department.

Information about available software can be given by Ronni Barouta, who is in charge of software licensing at the Department of Physics.
The IT department of the university has listed the most common programs.

On 1 May 2020, SU procured its own framework agreement for licensing partners. The license partner agreement provides the opportunity for e-commerce via the Marketplace in the Raindance portal. The Uppsala server, which was previously used for ordering software, is now only used for ordering EndNote and purchasing history.

Please note that all orders for software must be made by the department's license manager Ronni Barouta

If you want more information about the license partner agreement, you will find it in the Agreement Catalog (in Swedish).
