Services of the Technical Division
The department offers specialised expertise in a number of different technical areas such as electronics, mechanical engineering and vacuum technology. You can read more about our services here.
About the Technical Division
The Technical Division is a base resource for the comprehensive experimental research that is carried out at Fysikum, the Department of Physics. The division offers special competence in a number of technical fields like electronics, mechanical design and vacuum technology.
Electronics & electricity
The Technical Division has a broad competence in analog and digital electronics as well as in power installations. The division has an electronics workshop equipped with tools and instrumentation for development, assembly and measurement, and a stock of components. The electronics group within the Technical Division can offer everything from simple repairs, assembly and installation to development and design of advanced instrumentation electronics.
Mechanics
Together with the mechanical workshop we can design, construct and manufacture everything from simple to very advanced mechanical components and assemblies. The division has good knowledge in the mechanical and physical properties of different materials and knows which materials can be used for different applications.
Vacuum technology & gas handling
Several of the division staff members have long experience of handling and working with vacuum for different applications. Our competence extends from vacuum pumps through vacuum measurements and analysis right up to complete vacuum systems.
Other services by the Technical Division
In addition to the main areas (listed in the left column of the page) the Technical Division offers services in many other fields. Below you will find some additional areas in which the division can offer competence and expertise today. The goal is to provide basic competence within the most commonly requested areas, but also to offer specialized skills that as far as possible match the evolving requirements within Fysikum.
