It is important that you read your emails

We at the Department of Physics often communicate with our students via e-mail. It is therefore important that our information is sent to the e-mail address that you monitor. We therefore recommend that the Ladok system contains the e-mail address that you actively use. Here you can find instructions on changing your email address. You might also have to change the adress in kontohantering.su.se (or activate email in Office 365).

Athena - our learning platform

Most of our courses use the learning platform Athena to upload course material or other course-related information. Information on whether your course is using Athena can be found on each course page. If you are enrolled in a course, it will appear when you login in the Athena platform. The department also uses Athena for general communication with students.

Laptop lending

Many of our courses require you to use a laptop computer in the regular classrooms while studying at the Department of Physics.  If you do not own a laptop and need one for your studies, there are a number of computers which can be borrowed. Lending takes place via the student office and the computer must be returned at the end of the course.

In the student areas on the 6th floor of the library (entrance from the rotunda) there are also four desktop computers available to students. You login with the same credentials as your university account. Files that you create on the computer can be saved in your own home directory at SU, which you can access automatically in directory Z:\ when you are logged in.

Printing, scanning and copying

There is a copying machine which can print and scan in the library on level 6 available to students at the Department of Physics. It is part of the university's printomat system. Information on how to recharge your university card to buy printouts can be found here:
