How come you chose Stockholm University and Fysikum as your study destination?

“I looked for a place with interesting research on a biophysical topic, so I found the group I am working in now. Also, my university had contact to the Stockholm University before and our Erasmus Advisor suggested the city to me.”

What have you enjoyed the most about your studies so far?

“The work in the lab and the conversations with collegues or fellow students. I also really enjoy being involved into actual research projects. In my short time here, I already had the possibility to help on the beamtime project at DESY*. Remotely of course, due to corona, but it was an interesting experience anyway.”

What tips would you give to new students at Fysikum?

"Be open and connect with new people. And try to work in a research group; the experience is super valuable. I think I learn more than I would have learned in a regular course. Also, do not forget to bring your own pillow and blanket.

What would you say to a student from abroad thinking about coming here to study at Fysikum?

“Do not think about it just do it! Stockholm is a great city and the working environment at Fysikum is very good. It is a wonderful opportunity.”

*DESY is a national research center in Hamburg Germany that operates particle accelerators.
