David Stuhrmann: Attending short talks or presentations

When I started studying physics I new the names of the big topics in physics like quantum mechanics and general relativity. Proceeding with lectures and semester, I felt that my knowledge in these basic and broad fields increased. But as the time for the thesis project came closer and closer, I noticed that research happens on so many smaller topics and varieties than I encountered in my daily lectures. Often a question popped up in my mind on how I could learn more about these various research topics there are existing today.
