All higher education in Sweden is based on courses. The courses often treat one single subject and may last a couple of weeks or a whole year. Programmes are constituted by courses. When studying a programme you are guaranteed admission to all courses included in the programme. Programmes often lead to a degree.

First level courses

First level studies at the Department of Political Science consist of three levels taken in consecutive order: Political Science I, II and III. The outline of the courses on the different levels is identical to that of its Swedish language equivalent, the only difference being that teaching and examinations are in English. Some students consider it an extra merit to follow the courses in English. It may also be good training for studies abroad.
