Studying with a disability

Stockholm University offers different kinds of targeted study support for students with long-term disabilities.

The support is organized both through the central Disability Services and the department.

Before you make an application for support and adaptations, we advise you to read the following information:

Getting started

To be offered targeted study support you first need to make an application.

How you apply for targeted study support differs depending on whether you are attending Stockholm university as a Swedish citizen, as an exchange student or as an international student organizing your studies in Sweden independently. Please see the central webpage from Disability Services for instructions on how to apply:

How to apply for support

Please make your application as soon as possible. You cannot be granted any targeted study support before your application has been approved.

After the application has been approved

If you are eligible for targeted study support you will, after your application has been processed, receive a certificate describing recommended adjustments. This certificate you need to send, in pdf-format, to the Department of Psychology via studiestod@psychology.su.se

The certificate is always valid until a specific date. If this date is approaching and you want to continue with study support after this date you need to contact the central Disability Services to get your certificate renewed. You can only be granted targeted study support while your certificate is valid.

If you need help, or have questions concerning your application for support or your certificate, please contact the central Disability Services:

Study support at sit-in examinations

Fill in the form Application for study support at a sit-in examination.

Please note that you must do this before each individual examination where you wish to use study support.

The deadline for application is always 14 days before the exam. If you have not applied on time you cannot be granted study support.

Study support staff at the Department of Psychology check all applications and inform the affected teacher, Study administration staff and the central Examination Services.

A couple of days after you have made your application you will get a confirmation via e-mail.

Please note that for sit-in-exams you also have to sign up for the exam in Ladok no later than 10 days before the exam.

Please note that to be granted study support at an exam you must have a valid certificate with recommended adjustments, and have sent this certificate to the Department of Psychology via studiestod@psychology.su.se. You can only be granted adjustments which are part of your recommendation.

If you have questions concerning study support at exams – do not use the form but instead send an e-mail to the Study support staff at the Department of Psychology via: studiestod@psychology.su.se
