Recording equipment

Instructions on how to use the Recording equipment. You can find the equipment in our storage room and book it in Outlook.

Equipment

  • Video camera (Canon Legria HF G50) + camera stand
Usage: For lectures/seminars (video + audio). Content can be saved on a memory card and transferred to a computer, or streamed directly to a computer.
  • Cam link
Usage: Stream (i.e. in real time) from the video camera to the computer. Can be used both for recording or broadcasting lectures/seminars.
  • Public screen (65 inches)
Usage: Display your presentation (i.e. similar to what one normally shows on a projector).
  • High quality webcam
Usage: Record lectures (video + audio) or participate in real time via e.g. Zoom.
  • High quality studio microphone
Usage: Connect to the computer to record high-quality audio.
  • Wireless microphone
Usage: Connect to the video camera or computer to record high-quality audio.
  • Universal dock
Usage: Makes it easier to connect a laptop to all the equipment.
  • LED panel with light stand
Usage: Portable panel that helps improve the lighting.
  • Headphones
Usage: There is also splitter available that makes it possible to connect two headphones simultaneously to the computer (e.g. if two persons are teaching together).

Upcoming additions:

  • A second LED panel with light stand.
  • A lectern (i.e. a raised lecture stand).
  • Adapters to be able to connect laptop brands to the equipment + longer cables.

Requirements

  • For now, there is no permanent computer, so you need to BYOC (bring your own computer).
  • For those of you who have a Dell laptop, just connect the laptop to the universal dock and everything should work smoothly.
  • If you do not have a Dell laptop, the universal dock might not work and therefore the functionality might be a bit limited. In that case, you would need the following connections on your laptop:

o    Ethernet (to connect to Internet, since Bellevue has really poor wi-fi)
o    HDMI (to connect to the public screen)
o    USB (to connect to the video camera via cam link).
o    USB (to connect to the microphone)
o    USB (to connect to the webcam)

We plan to install a permanent Dell laptop and, as previously mentioned, order adapters that make it possible to connect the equipment also to other laptop brands.

Bookings

If you wish to book the studio equipment, go about it as you normally would when you book a meeting room and choose "PUBLICHEALTH Studio Equipment" (i.e. via Outlook). You can find the resource in the global address list in Outlook.

Instructions

Since different people might want to use the equipment in very different ways, it is difficult to outline any clear instructions. Are you interested in using the studio equipment? Contact Ylva/Anders by e-mail to get a “tour”. Alternatively, you can try out the equipment on your own and contact Ylva/Anders if you have any questions.
