The long journey from the Elqui Valley to the Nobel Prize in Literature’. I will present Mistral’s trajectory as a writer, intellectual and diplomat during the inter-war period, through which she became an internationally recognised figure, obtaining the most relevant literary award in 1945. I will talk about her poetry and essay writing and provide examples with translations into English.
