Research subjects
Research at the Department is conducted within a wide range of fields, especially within Linguistics and Literature, but also the Social Sciences.
Researchers at the Department are active within two Leading research areas at the Faculty of Humanities, applied to our languages: Literary Research (Litteraturforskning )and Second Language Research (Andraspråk och tvåspråkighet ) Within the last area, the research group RomSLA gathers researchers interested in the acquisition of second languages with a specific focus on Romance languages, also from other departments and universities (for more information, see RomSLA). In addition, the Department also has a proper Leading research area : Romance Linguistics (Romansk språkforskning) (see also su.se/romling). Within the Classical Languages, research is conducted within text philology, roman literature, reception studies, Ancient Greek semantics an the philosophy of Language.
