Application - deadline January 15 2025
Master’s programmes at Department of Sociology only have one admission round for all applicants with deadline in January the same year as your programme starts.
All applications to our master's programmes are made through the national website universityadmissions.se, or in Swedish through antagning.se.
Students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland are required to pay both an application fee and a tuition fee.
Admission
March 27, 2025 you will receive a notification from Univesityadmission / Antagningen regarding your admission.
You have to actively accept the seat you have been offered no later than May 15, 2025. If you don’t accept your place by the deadline, you will lose the place that you’ve been offered.
Students on waiting list will be contacted by email if we have places left.
Conditionally admitted
If you are conditionally admitted you must be able to show the appropriate documents to prove your eligibility to be able to register for the course. To show that you fulfil the requirement and to remove the conditional admittance, please contact us at master@sociology.su.se
How to decline your offer
If you decide not to attend, it’s important that you decline your place as soon as possible so that students on waiting list can get your place instead. Follow the instructions given under Universityadmission.se – ‘Application’ after you log in.
Residence permit for studies
All non-EU/EEA students who plan on studying for more than three months must have a residence permit for studies in Sweden. The authority responsible for issuing residence permits is the Swedish Migration Agency, (”Migrationsverket”). It is important that you apply for a residence permit well in advance, to make sure that your application is processed in time.
