New funding from the Swedish Research Council

Two new research projects at the Department of Sociology have been granted new research funding from the Swedish Research Council in the annual call for humanities and social sciences.

The projects that now receive funding study health inequalities experienced among sexual minorities and their children, and how surnames contributes to our understanding of social mobility over three centuries. In the annual call for humanities and social sciences from the Swedish Research Council, approximately SEK 8 million goes to the Department of Sociology.

A total of 90 projects have been granted funding and a further nine grants to the research environment in the humanities and social sciences are awarded by the Swedish Research Council, a total of just over SEK 534 million.

Stockholm University has had 24 applications approved for a total of SEK 138.5 million, and the following projects at the Department of Sociology receive funding:

"Surnames and social mobility across three centuries" is granted 4,800 000 SEK. Responsible researcher: Martin Kolk.

"Understanding health inequalities experienced by self-identified sexual minorities, same-sex partners and their children" is granted 3,196 000 SEK. Responsible researcher: Stefanie Möllborn.
