In June 2021, the Swedish government set up a commission to evaluate the measures taken by the government, the relevant managing authorities, the regions and municipalities to limit the spread of Covid-19 and the effects of the virus.

Gunnar Andersson, Sven Drefahl and Eleonora Mussino from Stockholm University Demography Unit, Department of Sociology, have produced a background report on mortality patterns together with Karin Modig och Anna Meyer at Karolinska Institutet. The Commission will hand over their report to the government today.
