Join us for a research seminar with Professor Per Holth, Department of Behavior Analysis, OsloMet Unversity. Research findings will be presented with a focus on how practitioners/researchers can teach young children with autism initiating and responding to joint attending and social referencing. Professor Per Holth will define from a behavior analytic perspective social referencing and joint attention and, why these behaviors are critical prerequisites for a child’s future development. Typically developing children learn these skills during infancy. However, deficits in these areas are more common in children with autism. Early intervention which addresses acquisition of these critical social skills may prevent later developmental delays.
