Epistemic exclusion and agency in mathematics: The case of Black immigrant girls in Chile

In the Svend Pedersen Award 2024 lecture, Luz Valoyes discusses how Black girls in math classrooms are often positioned as "troublemakers" and considered less capable of learning, leading to exclusion. To explain this, she uses the perspectives of social epistemology and critical Black feminism.
