CIVIS – the European Civic University Alliance – is a collaboration among European universities in Brussels, Spain, France, Romania, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Austria, Switzerland, and Stockholm. CIVIS aims to promote cooperation in education and research, as well as to facilitate student mobility and exchange opportunities among member countries.

What does your role as a representative for CIVIS entail?

– My role as a representative in the CIVIS Student Council encompasses advocating for international issues that may interest Stockholm University students and collaborating with other student representatives from European universities within the CIVIS alliance. This collaboration focuses on addressing education, research, and student mobility issues. My responsibilities include direct communication with the CIVIS Steering Committee, involvement in the creation of CIVIS' legal entity, and proposing content for upcoming CIVIS Days. Additionally, I participate in meetings that are pivotal to our collaborative efforts.

What are you most looking forward to?

– I am eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with students from diverse backgrounds within the CIVIS alliance, addressing the shared challenges and seizing the opportunities inherent in higher education and student life. My goal is to actively contribute ideas that enhance student mobility and exchange, believing deeply in the value of these experiences for both personal and academic growth for PhDs at Stockholm. 

– Representing Stockholm University students on the CIVIS Student Council is a privilege, and I am very thankful to the CDR board members for accepting my nomination and to all those who voted for me. I am committed to furthering the alliance's objectives through my role.
