Magnus Petersson är professor i modern historia vid Institutt for forsvarsstudier i Oslo. Han undervisar och handleder också regelbundet vid universiteten i Oslo och Stockholm. Han forskar om frågor rörande säkerhet och försvar i Norden samt om transatlantiska säkerhetsfrågor. Han har tidigare varit gästforskare vid Boston University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins University och Macquarie University. Hans senaste bok NATO and the Crisis in the International Order publicerades 2019 av Routledge. Han gästar IRH mellan augusti 2019 och februari 2020.

Magnus Petersson is Professor of Modern History at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies in Oslo. He also teaches and supervises regularly at the University of Oslo and Stockholm University. His field of study is security and defence in Northern Europe and Transatlantic Security. He has been visiting researcher at Boston University (Department of International Relations), George Washington University (Elliott School of International Affairs), Johns Hopkins University (School of Advanced International Studies), and Macquarie University (Department of Security Studies and Criminology). His most recent publication is NATO and the Crisis in the International Order (Routledge, 2019). He is a visiting researcher at the IRH between August 2019 and February 2020.
