Collaboration between Stockholm University and Region Stockholm

Region Stockholm and Stockholm University have a collaboration agreement in areas with a particular need for research efforts. One of the aims is to contribute with knowledge in order to solve societal challenges.
Call for project grants opens every spring
Calls for grants for joint collaboration projects open every spring. The call usually opens in April and closes in August. Projects can be applied for in those areas where Region Stockholm and Stockholm University collaborate:
- Life Science
- Mental health
- Digitalization
- Climate and urban and regional planning
- Culture
The call is addressed to all departments at Stockholm University and is intended to be clearly linked to needs and societal challenges in Region Stockholm. The main applicant must be employed at Stockholm University. The call is currently closed and will open again in the spring of 2026.

Ellinor Fackle Fornius, senior lecturer in statistics at the Department of Statistics, and her team were granted 1.7 MSEK for their project Long-term effects of treatments for adolescent suicide attempts.

Eva Sverremark-Ekström, Professor in immunology at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, and her team were granted 3 MSK for their project "Can epigenetic differences explain inflammatory responses and result in different heart failure phenotypes".
Laura Ferrer-Wreder, associate professor and director of studies at the Department of Psychology, and her team were granted 900 000 SEK for their project Parent Web: Supporting families with adolescents: Study 2—Maximizing reach, uptake, and value.
