General questions

What measures is Stockholm University taking to protect staff and students from being infected?

Information about the University's positions in relation to the new coronavirus is updated continuously, based on the current situation and recommendations from the responsible authorities. The latest information can be found in the University's information for students and staff about Covid-19.

Students and staff are encouraged to follow the recommendations of the authorities on getting vaccinated and staying at home when you have symptoms. Special guidelines apply to those not fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Do I need a vaccine certificate?

Stockholm University does not require a vaccine certificate from students in order for them to participate in teaching and examination on campus. 

How do I protect myself and others from infection?

Stockholm University continues to follow the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic. Students and staff are therefore encouraged to follow the recommendations of the authorities on getting vaccinated and staying at home when you have symptoms. The University has not made any decision regarding recommending the use of face masks.

What information is available for those renting university housing?

Stockholm University rents out hundreds of residences to international students and researchers, and questions have come up regarding how the rental agreement applies to, for example, sudden or cancelled travel.

For employees

Will employees continue to work from home?

Opportunity to work from home is possible in accordance with the agreements for TA staff. 

If you have questions about working from home or at your workplace, please contact your supervisor. Supervisors contact the Human Resources Office.

Where can I find support about working from home and information about online teaching?

On su.se/lifeonline you will find support and tools for online teaching and working from home.

Can I bring home office equipment, such as a desktop computer, if I need to work at home for a longer period?

It is possible to take home office equipment if you need to be able to work from home. Contact your head of department or manager.

Is Zoom safe to use in regard to security and privacy?

There are a lot of functions in Zoom that you can use to increase security and functionality for your meetings or lectures.

How much can I change the course for online teaching?

Already confirmed deviations from syllabus concerning changing examination forms can continue to apply, but no new such decisions may be made by the head of each department after 9 February 2022.

What applies to doctoral studies and dissertations?

Dissertations and licentiate seminars can continue to be conducted so that it is possible to participate online.

Regulations for education and summative assessment at third-cycle level

Can the University stop my planned work-related trips?

Yes, all business trips must be approved by your nearest manager. Members of staff who are planning international business trips must follow the guidelines of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, the universities concerned, and the relevant airline information. Non-necessary trips to countries where the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs are advising against travel are to be avoided.

All business trips must be booked through the University's procured travel agency Egencia.

Do I have an insurance for business travel and overseas assignments?

Kammarkollegiet is a Swedish public agency that provides different types of insurance for employees of a Swedish public authority.

Does the university pay for the costs of PCR/antigen tests?

Yes, Stockholm University pays for the costs of PCR/antigen tests for employees, provided that it is work-related, for example in connection with a business trip.

Important information to employees/managers about occupational health care services

Can Stockholm University as my employer stop my private trip?

No, the University cannot stop your private journey. However, the University advises all staff and students not to travel to countries that the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ advises against travelling to.

Yes. You do not need to register the absence it in any particular way, but notify your manager.
