Education
Some go into the deep seas, others aim for the stars. Studying science is an adventure that opens doors to new worlds.
Studying science
Science and maths help us understand how the world around us is connected, from the origin and structure of the universe to the development and functioning of humans and all other organisms on Earth.
Knowledge of science enables you to critically analyse the credibility of information in different areas of everyday life, in society and in the media. As a scientist or mathematician, you will be attractive in a large labour market that exists in all areas of society and ranges from technology companies, environment and healthcare to research.

The Scientific Method 1,5 credits
The Scientific Method is a mandatory course for obtaining the Bachelor of Science degree at the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University. It is included in the syllabus for individual projects at first level for most subjects, but is taken independently of the Bachelor's thesis. The current syllabus makes the course better suited to be taken early in your studies.
The course is part of a general academic education and is not specific to any particular subject or project. It consists of five seminars on the scientific method, which include required course literature and a written final exam. Upon completing the course, students are expected to have gained insight into the concept of the scientific method.
The course is offered at half-pace (afternoons) twice per semester. It is available in both Swedish and English, with one session per semester in each language. Registration for the course is mandatory.
