Research
Research at the Faculty of Science is multifaceted and covers broad areas of knowledge, from elementary particles to the outermost limits of the universe, from protein structures and cell membranes to entire ecosystems and from continental ice sheets and their link to the climate. Several of the Faculty's departments are behind discoveries and scientific breakthroughs that are recognised worldwide.
Profile Areas
Stockholm University has identified 16 profile areas, each encompassing several large and strong research environments with extensive education. In the Science academic area, there are eight profile areas.
