Who do you think should be given an award for good teaching?
Do you have an outstanding teacher who should be rewarded for their inspiring teaching? Or do you have a colleague who makes outstanding pedagogical contributions?
Just don't hesitate, nominate your teacher/colleague for The Award for Good Teaching 2025.
All students and staff at SU can nominate teachers. Your nomination will help the university to give high priority to teaching and pedagogical development.
Please note, nominations will close on March 2nd.
Important dates
- The nomination period runs from December to March each year.
- The award recipients are announced in June.
Every year since 1992, Stockholm University has awarded talented teachers a prize of SEK 50,000 and a diploma that is formally handed over at the annual promotions and installation ceremony at the City Hall. The award is to be used to enable the teacher to carry on developing his or her professional competence.
All students and staff at Stockholm University may nominate a teacher to The Award for Good Teaching. The nominee must teach at the university's education and be permanently employed at Stockholm University. A teacher can normally only be awarded the prize once.
The Criterion for the selection of The Award for Good Teaching
The award goes to teachers who meet the criterion that they support student learning through:
- Outstanding teaching efforts
- Acknowledged interest in, and commitment to, educational development of teaching
- Acknowledged pedagogical competence.
You should focus on this criterion when you nominate a teacher. Try to describe in your own words why you think your teacher meets the criterion and deserves the award. Bear in mind that nominations which are too short will not get past the first step in the selection procedure. The preferred amount of text is approximately 100 to 500 words per question. There is plenty of space for your text in the boxes in the nomination form. Just "scroll" down!
