Formas
Formas is a government research council for sustainable development. They provide substantial annual funding to Stockholm University, typically SEK 30–100+ million per year, depending on the calls and projects. The focus areas include environmental issues, sustainable land and water use, and societal development.

For the Explore – Formas’ open call for research projects 2024, Formas allocated a total of SEK 500 million to 83 approved projects following the review of 1,117 applications. Stockholm University was awarded eight projects, corresponding to a success rate of approximately ten per cent for SU.
