Collaboration – a path towards a more sustainable future

FILM ABOUT RESEARCH. Four principles are necessary for successful knowledge co-production for sustainability research.

Sustainable Development Goal 17: Global partnerships

Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

  • An understanding of how a challenge emerged.
  • A range of perspectives, knowledge, and expertise
  • Clearly defined, shared and meaningful goals
  • Ongoing learning among actors, active engagement and frequent interactions.

A scientific study made by an international research group at the Baltic Sea Centre and Stockholm Resilience Centre states that these four principles are necessary for successful knowledge co-production for sustainability research.

"We have enormous sustainability challenges ahead of us. In order to handle these challenges, we need collaboration. We need to work long-term with many different stakeholders in order to reach these goals together," says Albert Norström, researcher at Stockholm Resilience Centre.

The film is included in a series of films about research at Stockholm University connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
