How to apply for a position

In order to apply for a position at Stockholm University, you have to register an account in our recruitment system.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application is complete in accordance with the instructions in the job advertisement, and that it is submitted before the deadline (at 23:59 Swedish time). The selection of candidates is made on the basis of the qualifications registered in the application.

Below you can see all the steps of the application process.

Stockholm University will soon change to using the recruitment system Varbi. During a transitional period, there will be two parallel systems and with slightly different instructions. 

 

In order to start writing your application, you need to register an account in the recruitment system. 

Click on Sign In or Sign Up above the list of vacancies, click on Register an account and follow the instructions.

With an account, you will have an overview of your applications and can reuse previously registered information.

Click on the button Log in and apply in the job advertisement.

Click on the Apply button in the job advertisement. Sign in with your e-mail address and password.

You will have to fill in an application form, answer questions, and attach appendices.

In case you have forgotten your password, click on Forgot password next to Sign In. A new password will be sent to your e-mail address.

Log in with your e-mail address and password. In case you have forgotten your password, click on Forgotten your password? in the login page and a new password will be sent to your e-mail address.

 

Signing in will take you to the application form for the position you are applying for. The title of the position is stated at the top.

Each question and request for a document (pdf rekommended, max 30 MB/document) will contain instructions regarding what should be included in the application.

Please, don't upload documents from the web or from cloud services – make sure the documents are stored locally before uploading.

Make sure to answer the obligatory questions and attach the obligatory documents, all of which are marked with an asterisk (*).

Signing in will take you to the application form for the position you are applying for. 

Each question and request for a document (pdf rekommended, max 40 MB/document) will contain instructions regarding what should be included in the application.

Please, don't upload documents from the web or from cloud services – make sure the documents are stored locally before uploading. You must have a stable internet connection and no ad-blocker on.

Make sure to answer the obligatory questions and attach the obligatory documents, all of which are marked with an asterisk (*).
 

 

At any time during the application period, you can save your application and continue later by clicking on Save and continue later.

Before you can submit your application you have to accept that your personal data will be recorded and processed for recruitment.

When you are ready to apply, click on the button Send application. If you forgot to fill in a required field, it will be marked with the text ”Obligatory information”. Fill in the missing information and click on Send application.

Once you have submitted your application, it will be locked and can no longer be edited.

When your application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation notice at the top of the page: “Thank you for your application”, as well as a confirmation to your e-mail address.

Once you have submitted your application, use the Back button to return to the list of vacancies and log out.

You will find this function on the landing page: Subscribe Hello "x" Log out.
