Accommodation for visiting researchers and doctoral students
If you are a visiting international researcher or doctoral student, you can apply for accommodation. To be eligible, you must be assigned to a department for at least three months.
Stockholm University offers a limited number of housing options for international visiting researchers and doctoral students who are affiliated with a department for at least three months.
You are welcome to bring a partner or family, but make sure to avoid shared housing options in your application if you plan to live together.
Use the online booking system to apply. You will need to upload your signed certificate when submitting your application.
How to apply
Fill in the form with your details and signature. It must also be signed by the head of department or head of administration.
Certificate for accommodation (396 Kb)
Once your application is complete, it will be placed in the housing queue. Accommodation is offered based on availability.
To complete your application, you must include:
- your personal details
- at least five housing preferences
- a signed certificate for housing application (template below)
- a valid photo ID.
Home insurance
Home insurance is mandatory if you are staying in Stockholm University housing.
It is also strongly recommended if you are renting privately.
