Historic accommodation in a garden setting

Finnstugan is part of Sweden’s cultural heritage and is considered significant in relation to the history of the Bergius Botanic Garden.

Finnstugan was designed by architect Erik Fant and completed in 1925. It replaced an earlier cottage that had been destroyed by lightning. The house was first used as stables and later became a residence for gardeners working at the Bergius Botanic Garden.

In 1945, a new wing was added, designed by engineer Herbert Olsson. The original section reflects the elegant classicist style of the 1920s, while the newer wing gives a more rugged impression.
