Home insurance
We recommend you to take home insurance for your stay in Sweden. It is mandatory if you are staying in a Stockholm University housing. The home insurance should always cover the entire duration of your lease. We recommend home insurance even if you are subletting on the private market.

If you have a Swedish personal identity number you can get a home insurance with a number of Swedish insurance companies.
If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number you might have some trouble finding a Swedish insurance company that allows you to take home insurance. Below we have gathered information from some of the main Swedish insurance companies that offer home insurance without demanding a Swedish personal identity number.
Please note that Stockholm University only forwards information provided by these companies. You need to contact an insurance company yourself to find out details and take an insurance.
