The number of participants was record high in the ceremony in Aula Magna on 23 November, when diplomas were handed out to newly graduated masters and others with a degree on an advanced level from Stockholm University. Around 400 happy graduates participated and togehter with their invited guests the auditorium was nearly fully booked.

The ceremony began traditionally with the entrance of the massed standards. Then followed the ceremonial that has not been changed much since the university's first master's conferment in November 1997, the year Aula Magna was built. A conferrer from each faculty distributed diplomas to the newly graduated and the Stockholm University's student union chair held speeches. The ceremony was gilded with song by Stockholm University Choir, music by a brass quartet from the Royal College of Music and music on the university's own Bösendorfer grand piano. After the end of the ceremony, everyone was invited to mingle at the Gallery and in the Foyer to music by the orchestra Kårsdraget. The ceremony was broadcast live and you can watch the film at

After the ceremony, a cocktail reception was served to the newly conferred masters with their guests, altogether reaching up to 1100 persons, in the Gallery and in the Foyer to the music played by Kårsdraget.
