The QS ranking was published in 2004-2009 by Times Higher Education magazine, in cooperation with research firm QS Ltd. From 2010, THE partnered with Thompson Reuter, and QS has continued with the rankings independently. QS presents both a world ranking list (most recently September 2013) and lists within broad fields and topics. From 2011, a more closely defined list, based on subject, has been published.
