The universities have been selected based on their number of Web of Science indexed publications in the period 2015-2018.
The Leiden Ranking includes various rankings and with regards to the indicator that shows the proportion of Stockholm University’s articles that belong to the world’s 10 percent most quoted within their fields (PP top 10%), Stockholm University is placed 189 in the world. The list is topped by Rockefeller University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University.
In Sweden, Stockholm University is placed number two after Karolinska Institutet.

When it comes to the proportion of Stockholm University’s articles that belong to the world’s 1 percent most quoted within their fields (PP top 1%) Stockholm University is placed 194 in the world.

This year, the number of universities included in the Leiden Ranking has increased from 963 to 1176 universities.  

When it comes to open access Stockholm University is ranked 111 in the world with 67,6 percent publications that are free to read in any form. Stockholm University is in the first place in Sweden in this category, followed by Karolinska Institutet in second place and
Linköpings University on third place.
