More than 1 000 universities from 85 different countries are included in QS World University Ranking 2019.

The best subjects ranked at Stockholm University within the top one hundred are Social Policy & Administration (24), Environmental Studies (33) followed by Geography (40), Sociology (45), Linguistics (46) and Anthropology (47). Philosophy, Earth & Marine Sciences, Communication & Media Studies and Economics are placed in the top 100 (51-100).

Ranks universities from around the world

The latest edition of the QS World University Ranking includes over 1 000 universities from 85 different countries. Stockholm University is ranked 200 this year, one place higher than the previous year. The top ranked university is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), followed by Stanford University and Harvard University.

Academic reputation

The QS Rankings are published annually by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The QS World University Ranking is based on six indicators where academic reputation is the most important (40 percent). The other indicators are reputation among employees, citations per faculty, student-to-faculty ratio, percentage of international students and percentage of international scientists.
