The 2015 edition of QS World University Ranking, one of the most prestigious ranking lists in the world of higher education, was presented on September 15. Stockholm University is to be found at 182 this year and is nationally ranked fifth in Sweden: Lund (70), KTH (92), Uppsala (102) and Chalmers (132).

Within the areas of Humanities (85) and Science (90) Stockholm University has the best result in Sweden and is among the top 100 universities in the world.

Fourteen subjects ranked within the top one hundred

The following subjects at Stockholm University are ranked in the 51st to 100th group of universities in the world: Geography (23), Environmental Science (27), Sociology (35) and Linguistics, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geological and Marine Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Media and Communications, Economics and Law (51- 100).

About QS World University Ranking

The ranking is based on six indicators where academic reputation is the most important (40 percent). The other indicators are reputation among employees, citations per faculty, Student-to-faculty ratio, percentage of international students and percentage of international scientists.
