ChatGPT for your university writing

Welcome to a workshop with the Academic Writing Service on using ChatGPT for your university writing. The first part of the workshop will explore possible uses of ChatGPT for writing and consider which uses are likely to be acceptable for work being done for assessment. The second part of the workshop will review strategies for prompting and give you the opportunity to test these strategies for yourself. As part of the workshop we will consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of using ChatGPT as a writing aid.

A point of departure for the workshop is that acceptable uses of AI tools will vary from programme to programme and from course to course. You should research the guidelines that are applicable to your study before the workshop and be prepared to discuss them with other workshop participants.

This event is open to all students doing undergraduate- or master's-level study at Stockholm University and the Swedish Defence University. You should bring a computer and you are encouraged to create a free account for ChatGPT (or an equivalent AI chatbot) before the workshop begins.
