Using AI chatbots for your university writing

Are you unsure about which uses of chatbots are likely to be acceptable for your written work or do you need help with prompting?

Welcome to a workshop with the Academic Writing Service on using generative AI for your university writing. The first part of the workshop will discuss academic integrity and explore possible uses of chatbots for writing. The second part of the workshop will review strategies for prompting and give you the opportunity to test these strategies for yourself. As part of the workshop we will consider the potential benefits and drawbacks of using AI chatbots as writing aids.

A point of departure for the workshop is that acceptable uses of chatbots will vary from programme to programme and from course to course. You should research the guidelines that are applicable to your study before the workshop and be prepared to discuss them with other workshop participants.

This event is open to all students at Stockholm University. You should bring a computer and you are encouraged to create a free account for ChatGPT, Claude or an equivalent service before the workshop begins.
